  •  Nano Precipitated calcium carbonate is a super ultra fine and very narrow particle size distribution precipitated calcium carbonate specially formulated as functional filler and extender in plastic compound.
  • Precipitated Calcium Carbonates (PCCs) are manufactured or synthesized calcium carbonates, which can be prepared in many different crystal sizes and shapes.
  • A special category of PCC is the ultrafine PCC, or as it is now more commonly known, the nano PCC. Nano particles are those which are less than 100 nanometers or 0.1 microns in size.
  • Calcium carbonate particles produced by carbonation of lime solutions or lime slurries are industrially important and find uses in diverse areas such as in the manufacture of toothpastes, lubricants, paints, textiles, plastics, adhesives, waste water treatment, rubber, ink and ceramic materials. Preparation of calcium carbonate particles has been reported in various types of reactors, e.g. stirred bubbling tank or column, rotating packed bed reactor (RPBR), Couette-Taylor reactor
  • Nano PCCs are also used in lithographic or offset inks. In highly filled litho inks, they can serve as the main rheological additive and cost-reducing filler. In lightly filled offset inks, they can extend other more expensive thickeners, as well as replace oils and varnishes.
  • The uncoated nano PCC products can be used for fortifying beverages such as cow’s milk and soy milk.Gravure inks need very low abrasion fillers. Rheology and filling are also the reasons to use ultrafine PCCs in epoxy and other adhesives, as well as in unsaturated polyester gel coats.
  • In the nano particle generation process the reaction takes place in high-gravity condition using a rotating packed-bed reactor. Presumably the basic principle of HGPR technique is to carry out the particles from the reaction range to prevent a further growing of the particles.
  • Thermal synthesis CaHAp facilitated by ultrasound aerosol spraying of the pre-conditioned precursor solution. There are two reasons why this technique was used. Firstly, the reaction method gives a product with well-controlled average particle size, and consistency in particle and sub-particle size distributions. Secondly, the attainable consistency in the characteristics of the reaction product obtained permits the testing of a theoretical method developed for the determination of the particle size, at both the particle and sub-particle levels
