  • The manufacturing process of Castle High Alumina Cement clinker resembles that of a metallurgical foundry and the cement is based on calcium
    aluminates rather than the calcium silicate basis of Castle Ordinary Portland Cement.
  • High alumina cement is obtained by fusing or sintering a mixture, in suitable proportions, of alumina and calcareous materials and grinding the
    resultant product to a fine powder.
  • The raw materials used for the manufacture of high alumina cement are limestone and bauxite.
  • High alumina cement, sometimes called calcium aluminate cement or aluminous cement, is very different in its composition and in some properties
    from portland cement, but concreting techniques are similar.
  • The converted form of HAC may show a reduction in strength and become more susceptible to certain forms of chemical attack.
  • It is known that the initial product of hydration of high-alumina cement at low temperatures, often labeled “CAH10,” contains both crystalline and amorphous portions.
  • Hydration and strength del'elopment characteristics. of high alumina cemellt (HAC) containing sodium sulfate and a variety ofdifferent zeolites types containing clinoptilolite, chabazite, sti/bite, and natrolite.
  • Applications of HAC include sulp hate-resis tant cements, bore hole plugging cements , f as t-se t ting patching compounds, rock anchors, grouting, cold temperature concreting, and refractories . Recently, HAC has been used instead of CaC12 as an accelerator.
  • Reaction mechanisms of stratlingite formation in highalumina cement (HAC)-zeolite systems were studied. A component separation method that made it possible to study individual reactions involving hydrated HAC and zeolite.
  • The application of high-alumina cement in structural members has been banned since the early 1970s in virtually every country in the world. The results of this study suggest that the use of conversion-inhibited high-alumina cement in reinforced concrete structural members, especially in aggressive environments, is a potential solution to these limitations.
  • Effect of binder and its amount on the high alumina self flow castable has been studied using X-ray Powder Diffraction (XRD) technique, which showed mullite phase in sol containing castable and grossite in cement containing one.
